“At first we were adding five cars, but all of the sudden it became eight,” Buerman says. Wanting to up the ante, he and his wife and co-founder, Maggie Buerman, decided to reveal the new vehicles during the museum’s second anniversary celebration in June. The acquisitions include an 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen (dubbed “The World’s First Motor Car”), a 1964 Full Factory Competition 289 Cobra, and even a 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Weissach (above), the fastest 911 ever built. All eight automotive masterpieces are now on display and ready for the public to discover at 1947 West Main Road in Portsmouth. newportcarmuseum.org
